No, not real bears, but the cross stitch project that I have been working on forever. This new year is the year the sucker will get finished. I started it when my daughter was in to ‘Build-a-Bears".. www.buildabear.com
But that was eons ago. She has now informed me that when/if I finish this project, it will look great in a nursery some day, if/when she ever has the need for such a room.
On the bright side, I’ll save a mint by not framing it.. at least until my daughter decides she actually wants to hang it. Wish framing wasn’t so darn expensive.
Finally there is a trip in my future to haul Kermie, the lean green rv diesel machine, out of storage. With my daughter competing less in taekwondo due to college, the trips have been limited. Good for the wallet but bad for the side of me that loves the road. At the end of the month, I’ll be heading north.
I don’t know how full time rv people handle the cold climates cause Kermie is like an icebox when traveling north. The dash heat doesn’t do squat to offset the ton of windows up front and if its cloudy without sunshine beaming in, thawing my butt off the driver’s seat can take days. Sure, I can run the generator and furnace while driving, but its propane and well, it makes me nervous.
Even with the cold, I’m still happy as can be about the trip. If its going to be cold, it would be great to see SNOW as long as I don’t have to drive in it. This trip I’m going to only drive during daylight hours… taking it REAL easy. The last thing I need is my RA/Fibro to flare up and put a damper on things. A veteran of cold from NY and long term netbud will be joining me for the trip back. We plan to slowly ‘craft’ our way back. We will be the Happy Stitchers.
Kermie needs to be taken out for exercise at least once a month. That was easy when my daughter was actively competing…now, not so much so. There are a few state parks near me that I want to check out for weekend trips. The only thing slowing me down is most of the parks lack pull through spaces. Backing up Kermie by myself is challenging enough in a parking lot muchless in an area where not only do the sides and rear need to be checked, but over hanging tree branches as well.
I just need to get off my butt, get in my van and go investigate these parks. Once I know which ones I can actually back in without help, then break Kermie out of storage and enjoy.
Kermie has to be stored off premises because I live in a gated community that doesn’t allow such eye sores. I am allowed to bring the rv in for 24 hours to load and/or unload and even longer periods of time when under a hurricane warning. I have to admit, Kermie is an older rv and its exterior doesn’t compare to the luxury inside. I don’t think I would want my neighbors to have a ‘Kermie’ parked in their drive way either.
However, if they had a Monaco Rv (www.monacocoachshowcase.com) I’d be tempted to pay them to park it in MY driveway. The Monaco is the rv of my dreams…. once I win the lottery.
